What Causes the Failure of Belt Conveyor Components and the Solution

Basically, we cannot avoid the failing in work of belt conveyor. The following several points are common phenomenon of belt conveyor components failure analyzed by PK Machinery. We hope to bring you some assistance.
  1. The belt fails in rotating;
The drive pulley belt slips and turns without moving forward after the starting of the belt conveyor motor. The belt failing in rotating is due to the insufficient belt tension, overlong of the belt, inappropriate adjustment of the tension equipment, too frequent start-up and the coal piled up at the end of the belt conveyor.
  1. Belt is easy to break ;
This problem is mainly caused by the large belt joint, poor belt buckle quality, long time use of the belt and the unprofessional belt maintenance. In this case, we should tighten the tension equipment, change high quality belt in time and improve the maintenance level.
  1. Abnormal sound from the reducer
One possible reason is that the abrasive wear of the bearing and gear causes a large gap between them. Or it is because the screw is too loose. In this case, we should replace the bearing, mend the gap and maintain or replace the reducer.
  1. Temperature of the reducer rises too fast
It is due to the over mount of lubricant, poor heat dispersion, speed reducer burying in coal. The lubricant oil amount should be reduced and the coal should be removed to solve this problem.
  1. Lubricant leakage of the reducer
The main reason includes the sealing ring is damaged, the reducer surface is not flat and the bolt is too loose. In this condition, we should change the sealing ring, tighten the connecting surface and the bearing cap bolts.

  1. The roller failed in rotating
If the coal powder falls into the roller sealing ring, it will block the conveyor roller and cause strong stress, then the roller would not rotate and even bend. And thus bring damage to the roller bearing. If this happened, we should replace the roller, lower the height of discharging point and the landing point, or use impact roller at the landing point.
