The Pulley Diameter Analysis of the Belt Conveyor

In the designing of belt conveyor, the correct selection of pulley diameter is of great significance. The conveying belt use conditions improve with the increase of the pulley diameter. However, with the same other conditions, increasing the pulley diameter will correspondingly increase its weight, the transmission ratio,amount and size of the reducer. Therefore, the pulley diameter should not be too small to ensure delivery with normal operating conditions. Thus, traditional pulley diameter directly affects the whole cost and weighting the driving device of the conveyor belt.

In the selection of the pulley diameter, the factors below are generally considered:

1. The thickness of the conveying belt and the bending stress related to the thickness when it enlaces the pulley.
2. The total stress that the conveyor belt bears, including the pulling stress and the bending stress.
3. The maximum or average unit stress between the conveyor belt and the pulley surface.
4. The circle times that the conveyor belt bears bending load, the enlacing methods and number of its rolling the pulley.
5. The type of the conveyor belt and installation site.

Belt Conveyor Trippers Were on Their Way to Thailand

Right before 5 days ago, we reached an agreement with our clients from Thailand, promising to deliver belt conveyor with tripper and circular vibrating screen what they had reserved. The belt conveyor with tripper refers to a particular equipment worked for wooden chip production line which will be settled at the top of warehouse to reach a maximum utilization rate of its space. 

Besides, their belt width are 1000mm and 650mm, length 25mm and 42mm.While circular vibrating screen is available for separating wooden chip with a size scale larger than 50mm, and stone size smaller than 4mm.

In addition, our clients are in need of metal detector, permanent magnet and drum separator as well. The permanent magnet settled at the feeding end is designed for isolating metals from material, while metal detector and drum separator are applied to eliminate the metal appeared in the production line.

How to identify whether there is roller bearing fault or not?

As is known to all, roller is the main part of belt conveyor, while bearing is the precision part of roller, but in the process of using, bearing is the most prone to fail, then how to troubleshoot the problem? It is important to improve the productivity and economy if it can be identified and predicted by the not removal of the bearing in the operation. 

First of all, we can judge whether there is failure by sound, but this requires operators with rich experience and rigorous training to identify there is bearing noise;
Then, it can be judged according to the equipment temperature . There are some limitations of this method, we need to record temperature changes to determine whether the bearing fault or not only in the operating state;
Finally, when lubricate the bearing, we can also judge bearing whether there is fault or hidden trouble from dirty lubricant, if it is mixed with foreign matter ,other metal powder or dust, the bearing is bound to a fail.
